  1. Watch the video for Souped-Up Ford from Rory Gallagher's Against The Grain for free, and see the artwork, lyrics and similar artists.
  2. After releasing two albums in and a live, contract-fulfilling disc in , Gallagher returned rested and recharged in with a new record label, Chrysalis, and a band with almost three years of hard touring under their belts. With its attention to detai, Against the Grain sounds more practiced and intricate than most of Gallagher 's previous studio discs, but still includes some of his most powerful 6/
  3. If you're new to Rory and want to check him out, I would suggest to start with his 2nd solo effort "Deuce"(fantastic guitar playing). Your best bet would be to buy the "Original Album Classics". You get 5 classic cd's from Rory (with "Deuce" & "Jinx" being in that set) for not too much money. Enough of my rambling, Long Live Rory Gallagher!!/5().
  4. The third CD is called "Bullfrog Interlude", featuring a gig for London radio to promote the then forthcoming album, Blueprint from February The live recording of "The Cuckoo" from this gig was used on Blue Day for the Blues, and also this gig's version of "What in the World" was used for the BBC Sessions live CD.
  5. But you won't stop my souped-up Ford. Well, you can set your watch 'cause I won't stop, I've got my foot to the floor. This greedy jeep don't need no sleep, Eats all the gas that you can pour. It's a front-wheel drive and it sound like a bee-hive, Good Lord, that's for sure. I'm blowing town, not breaking down.
  6. Against The Grain CD music Nice blend of styles on this album. Rory shows his maturity from his mastery of blues and rock. The acoustic Out on the Western Plains is one of my favorite acoustic tunes and fits in well with the otherwise rowdy rock tunes.
  7. Jul 27,  · At least to my ears 's self-produced and aptly-titled "Against the Grain" was a major surprise. For a guy who had always prided himself on his non-commerciality (I'm guessing that was the inspiration for the title), the album came off as quite slick and well produced. That's not to imply this was Gallagher's sell-out album/5(80).
